Short Poem: Faith

I’m here in the place you’d asked me to wait

looking out to anyone coming my way, thinking it could be you.

my wait has loomed deep into time,

the sight of the fading stars I once gazed seem to torment my hope.

Would you come, would you not?

I await still, like a knight of the nights watch

seated on a long seat of hope,

a swollen eye, and a faith unyielding to time and tide!
